Wow! I just came across some art from old books and some of it is truly mind-boggling. Thanks to Besty Bird at Fuse #8 for the link!
This portrait by Alex Queral was carved out of a phonebook.
This is called the 'Reader's Digest' Cake and was frosted with wax but Robert The.
And this is a Book Vase by Laura Cahill. Laura uses a band saw - then inserts glass tubes inside for the water.
What do you think?

Here are some lovely pics from the gallery show of Jessica Albarn's art for The Boy in the Oak at Foyles in London, as well as an article published about it. The 19th, the opening reception, was a success! The show goes on until the 28th, so check it out if you're in London. And, best of all, below there's a still from the upcoming movie based on the book and narrated by Jude Law. We're all very excited here at Simply Read about it.

Boy in the Oak Film
Exciting!
Damon Albarn, the frontman of Blur and the musical chameleon behind Gorillaz and The Good The Bad & The Queen, has written a score for a short film based on the Simply Read Book by Jessica Albarn - The Boy In The Oak.
The film will be directed by renowned music video director Luke Losey (known particularly for his work with Orbital), and narrated by Hollywood star Jude Law. And best of all, we don't have long to wait! It's coming out this spring!
