Courtney Fearon, the mom whose daughter loves the Simply Small Series by Paola Opal, just finished the last two characters in the series--Saffy and Ollie.
Then she took some photos of all of them together.
They are too cute!

This is amazing! A dress made entirely out of Golden Books. The skirt is all made from illustrations sewn together with metallic gold thread. The bodice is made from the books' foil spines. Below is some of the pictures of the process!

Simply Small dolls - totally cute!

Our author/illustrator Paola Opal just shared with us the work of one of her fans.
A mom, Courtney Fearon, whose 1 year old LOVES the simply small series, decided to create fabric dolls of the characters for her daughter's birthday.
She started with Totty and Dotty's bird because those are her daughter's favorite characters. She also created Dotty and Perry, too!

The finalists for the 2011 BC book prizes were just announced today and we are thrilled that Julie Flett's beautiful book, Owls See Clearly at Night, was nominated, along with some other beautiful picture book titles.

This is beautiful and inspiring.













While her baby is taking her nap, Adele Endersen creatures scenes around her and takes quick snap photos. She makes sure each photo takes only a few minutes, as she doesn't want to disturb her sleeping! As she says, "I'd like to see into your dreams, my little girl." There is a video of all her images posted on her blog.

Lost Thing Wins

The brilliant film by Shaun Tan -- the Lost Thing -- just won an Oscar last night! Congratulations!
